Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Threshold Homes, Inc. (“Threshold,” “we,” “us”) helps homebuyers and homeowners understand what a home needs, what it is likely to cost, and who should do the work. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we disclose it to and by what means, how long we keep it, and how we protect it. It applies to thresholdhomes.ai, the Repair Assessment reports we publish, and our concierge and referral services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. Your name, email address, phone number, property address, the name of your real estate agent, and anything else you include when you request a report, submit a form, view a report, accept our terms, or contact us.
Documents you send us. Home inspection reports, pest and roof reports, seller disclosures, preliminary title reports, permit records, photographs, and similar materials you or your agent provide by email, shared folder, or upload.
Documents shared with us through third-party disclosure platforms. Real estate agents frequently share a property’s disclosure package using platforms such as HomeLight’s Listing Management service (Disclosures.io). When an agent does so, the platform grants that address access to the package, and we retrieve the documents it contains together with the property and listing details the platform supplies — address, property characteristics, and the listing and sharing agents’ names, email addresses, and brokerages. Disclosure packages are prepared by the seller’s side of a transaction and may contain information about the property and its occupants. We receive them as the agent shared them; we do not select their contents.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card and bank details are submitted directly to Stripe and are not transmitted to or stored on Threshold’s systems. We receive a confirmation of the transaction, the amount, and limited details such as the last four digits of a card.
Usage information. When a report is viewed we record the report, the identified viewer, the time, and the referring page. When you accept our terms we record the version accepted, the time, your IP address, and your browser user agent. We also collect standard server and analytics information about visits to our website.
2. How We Use Information
- To produce, deliver, and host Repair Assessments and other deliverables.
- To identify, recommend, schedule, and coordinate third-party service providers at your direction.
- To respond to your requests, provide support, and administer your account and subscription.
- To process payments, invoices, and refunds.
- To understand how our reports are used and to improve our methods, templates, and service.
- To follow up with realtors and buyers who have engaged with a report, and to send information and offers about Threshold’s services.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and misuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with law.
3. Who We Disclose Information To, and How
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as follows, in each case over encrypted connections and, where a vendor is involved, under a written agreement that limits their use of it to providing services to us.
| Recipient | What is disclosed | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment and billing details, submitted by you directly to Stripe | Payment processing |
| Third-party AI providers | The contents of inspection reports, disclosures, and related documents, transmitted through a commercial API | Automated analysis and drafting of Repair Assessments |
| Infrastructure providers under contract | Account, contact, report, and usage data as required to operate | Cloud hosting, database, transactional email, and business email and file storage |
| Service providers you engage | Your name, contact details, property address, and the scope of work discussed | To obtain bids and schedule work at your direction |
| Your real estate professional | The report and related materials | Where you share them, or where your agent requested the report on your behalf |
| Legal and corporate recipients | As required | To comply with law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets |
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We set a cookie when you first identify yourself to view a report. It contains a random token that points to your viewer record; it never contains your name, email address, or account identifier. Its purpose is to let realtors and their buyers view multiple reports without re-entering their details each time.
We also use cookies and server logs for security, session integrity, and basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; if you do, you will be asked to identify yourself each time you open a report.
5. Marketing Communications
We use the contact details we hold to follow up on reports you have viewed or requested and to send information about Threshold’s services. This includes details you provide to us directly and, where applicable, details of real estate professionals contained in materials shared with us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time by using it or by writing to info@thresholdhomes.ai. We will still send transactional messages relating to a service you have requested.
6. Retention and Deletion
We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide our services, support you in the transaction or project it relates to, and meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations — after which we delete it or retain it only in de-identified form.
We may retain property disclosures, inspection reports, and the assessments built from them, for up to ten years. These documents describe a home’s structure, systems, and expected maintenance over a long horizon: a roof, appliance, or pest issue flagged at purchase remains directly relevant to that home’s owner, and to our ability to advise them, many years after a sale closes.
On written request to info@thresholdhomes.ai, we will delete the documents and personal information we hold about you within 30 days, except where we are required to retain specific records by law or need them to resolve a dispute. We will confirm when the deletion is complete.
7. How We Protect Information
- Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our hosting and database providers.
- Access is limited to personnel who need it to perform the services, on accounts protected by multi-factor authentication.
- Session cookies are set server-side and are not readable by page scripts.
- Payment card details are never transmitted to or stored on our systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and tell you how we use and disclose it.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information, subject to §6.
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- Receive a copy of the information you provided to us, in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, write to info@thresholdhomes.ai. We will verify your identity before acting, respond within 45 days, and will not treat you differently for making a request. If you are a California resident, these rights are provided in addition to any rights you hold under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to info@thresholdhomes.ai and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Sites and Providers
Our site and reports may link to third-party websites, and the service providers we recommend maintain their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will post the revised version with a new “last updated” date, and will notify active clients by email of material changes before they take effect.
